MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The Glen Gives is Awbrey Glen Golf Club’s own non-profit organization providing assistance to local deserving families in need. Started in 2004, over $800,000 has been raised for 1,300 families with one-time assistance. Unique to Glen Gives, 100% of monies raised goes directly to our recipients. All overhead is contributed through the generosity of committee members.
We assist Central Oregon families who are experiencing short-term financial difficulties and have demonstrated a willingness to help themselves. Our goal is to help these families achieve self-sufficiency and increased family stability.
All families must have children and be nominated by local social service agencies.
Applications are reviewed by a team of Glen Gives volunteers. Funds are allocated based on need and consistency with our goals.
HOW WE HELP
We have helped families avoid homelessness by paying for rent, mortgage payments, rental deposits.
We allow people to remain employed with car repairs, gas cards, tire and auto purchases, uniform payments and training for programs/classes.
We have made utility payments, purchased firewood, beds, groceries, warm clothing and medical equipment.
All payments are made directly to the provider of the service (landlord, repair shop, utility provider).
HOW THE MONEY IS RAISED
Direct financial contributions to The Glen Gives.
Proceeds from the annual Glen Gives Event, a small plate tasting and charity auction.
